Hunter Design Company - Why I make what I make

This company was born from a desire to build. I saw an epoxy table in 2018 and wanted to know if I could build it. So I tried. I found the process not only good for my mental well being but I enjoyed the challenge. Then I started making more, and more, and I quickly ran out of space to store coffee tables and end tables. This is when I decided to start selling these pieces. I am not in this to make a ton of money. I am not doing this to scale my business. When those things are the driving force behind a company you end up with cookie cutter pieces with lower quality. My goal is to push myself to build unique, functional art all while making enough money to spoil my three dogs.

Lets be clear right out the gate. I love making furniture, but the drive behind what I do is curiosity in myself. I want to know if I can make something, then I try until I succeed at making that thing. That is why you will often find one or two or maybe even three of the same item but rarely more. Once I have determined I can make something, and I am happy with the way it turned out, I have accomplished that goal and feel little need to repeat this process.

That’s why you may say “Oh I love this piece that you made can you make me one like this” I very may well so No. If I enjoy making that specific piece I may say yes. Its a toss up. This ensures your piece is made with passion and attention to detail. Basically I make what I want to make. If I took on a job that I wasn’t passionate about your piece would not get the love and care it deserves.

All of our lumber is sourced responsibly. We use a variety of finish types to protect your wood from damage, most are all natural, all are food safe. As with any fine woodworking, your piece will require your attention to maintain its beauty for generations. At Hunter Design Company we strive to bring you a quality product that will last for ages. Our company was built on quality, value, and passion for learning. And yes, that is my Weimaraner in our logo :)
